How to cancel DigitalOcean
Destroy the droplets, databases and spaces you no longer want — the account itself is not a subscription, the resources are. A powered-off droplet is still billed; only destroying it stops the charge. Then open Settings > Billing and remove the payment method, or close the account. Take a snapshot first if you might want the machine back; snapshots are billed too, but far less.

Cancelled and still charged?
Then the charge is not coming from DigitalOcean. Whoever took your money holds the subscription — if you subscribed inside an app, it is the app store, and only the app store can stop it.

- 1Create an account at digitalocean.com and add a payment method.
- 2Create a droplet, database or space — you are billed hourly up to a monthly cap per resource.
- 3Set a billing alert immediately; usage-based billing has no ceiling by default.
- 4The monthly cap only applies per resource, not to the account.
